Sep 06, 2013· Detrital sand grains from three beaches (Tecolutla, Nautla, and Veracruz) along the western Gulf of Mexico were studied by a scanning electron microscope, to investigate the depositional environment and paleoclimate. Totally, 24 microtextures are identified; among them, 13 are grouped as mechanical origin, 5 as mechanical and/or chemical origin, and 6 as chemical origin.
